For more than 180 years First Baptist Church of Pensacola has been a spiritual home – a place where God has shaped lives, families and futures.
This is the place where;
Couples stand before God and begin their marriages.
Children are dedicated, taught and baptized.
Students discover their faith and their calling.
Families gather to worship, pray and serve.
This is where we have Easter morning memories and Christmas Eve moments.
We say goodbye and celebrate the lives of loved ones here.
This is where we have met Jesus, this is where we have grown in faith, and this is where we have become family.
The total cost of the project is $7.5 million. We have already secured $4 million gifts for this work.
Now we need to raise the other $3.5 million to complete the financing.
Our goal is to complete the fundraising by the end of summer 2027.
Heating and Cooling System Renewal - $6.5 million
The 1980s era chiller needs to be replaced. We can no longer control the temperature in the Sanctuary. It’s either on full blast or off.

Forty-two rooftop units need to be replaced. A fully integrated system to serve the Sanctuary, S Wing, E Wing, offices and educational spaces is needed. A new mechanical building - 50’  by 65’ - needs to be constructed on the south lawn.

Piping, vents and other elements of the system have been in place since the 1950s and must be replaced and modernized.

As you can see, this is not a cosmetic upgrade. It is a critical investment in the comfort, safety and long-term sustainability of our ministry.
Children’s Building Remodel - $1 million
This includes reconfiguration of the present Children’s space to make it more efficient and to add a much-needed bathroom.  All children’s classrooms need to be behind secure access points. We need to create a welcoming, modern check-in area for families.
We will also designate a mission project to receive a portion of the funds raised.  While sustaining our buildings on campus is very important,
we must never lose our focus on outreach – whether it’s down the street or across the globe.
Air conditioning is important in Pensacola, Florida. We all know that.
And we know that children are our future and with all the growth and new families joining us each week,
the children’s area is important to our family ministry.

But beyond that, this is important to support because –  This is God’s House. It’s where we learned the stories of Jesus.
It’s where we find community when we feel alone. It’s where our children sang their first Christmas songs.
It’s where we have prayed through storms – literal and spiritual.
We have been comforted in grief and strengthened in hope. This is where God has met us again and again.
We inherited this church from those who sacrificed before us – they built this campus and cared for its needs.
