Sanctuary Choir
This choir of adults, age 18 & up, comprise the main service choir of First Baptist Church. With 160-plus active members, they serve faithfully each Sunday morning as worship leaders at the 11:00 service.

In addition to singing each Sunday morning, they take an overseas tour once every four years. Their last two trips have taken them to Latvia/Sweden/Russia in 1994, and England/Scotland/Holland in 1998. Their next tour is planned for July of 2002, with London, Normandy, Paris and Rome being their destinations. The Sanctuary Orchestra accompanies them on these overseas trips.
Musical styles shared by this choir run the gamut, everything from contemporary to classical. The picture to the right is of them performing Handel's MESSIAH during the Christmas season.
The regular rehearsal time for this group is on Wednesdays at 6:45 to 8:30 PM. They typically do two main programs per year: 1) The Pensacola Easter Pageant (Easter weekend), and 2) In Excelsis Deo (second Sunday in December).
Membership is open to church members and non-church members alike, with the only requirements being the ability to carry a tune, to learn a part, to be committed in attendance, and to have a passion for sharing Christ through singing. There are no auditions.
