Mid-morning

This service occurs on Sunday mornings from
10:30-11:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. Our pastor,
Dr. Barry Howard, shares the message, and
Bob Morrison, associate pastor-music and worship, serves as the worship leader.

The worship choir is our 150-member Sanctuary Choir (adults). This group uses a variety of musical styles as they lead our congregation to praise God, hopefully touching on everyone's "likes" from time to time. Most services also feature a solo, an ensemble selection, an orchestra piece, or a handbell selection.

Congregationally, both hymns and choruses are used. An effort is made to promote the heritage of the great hymns of our faith, as well as the newer choruses that so often are textually taken directly from scripture.

Accompaniment for both our congregational singing and our choral/ensemble selections range from full orchestra to handbells. Foundational instruments supporting all of our singing are the organ and piano; First Baptist has a large Reuter Organ (one of the largest in this region), and a 9-foot Steinway Concert Grand.
